Ridgeview Community Church is currently in the process of calling a new Lead Pastor into our congregation. Please continue to be in prayer for our church board and District Superintendent as they begin taking steps towards the new chapter of the church. As well, be in prayer for Pastor Daren and his new ministry at El Morro Church of the Nazarene. We thank him for his selfless service leading our congregation for the past 14 year.
Pastor of Student Ministries
Cody joined the Ridgeview staff in January 2010. Cody and his wife Lindsey have two sons, Asher (3) and Lincoln who was born in February of 2017. He received his degree in English from Cal State University Bakersfield. Cody is unashamed of the fact that he is a nerd; many of his interests center around "nerd culture" i.e. comic books, Lord of the Rings, science fiction etc. You can also find Cody out playing with his dogs, Macy and Zoe, and in the great outdoors hiking, fishing or hunting. Cody's favorite Bible verse is Micah 7:8 because it reflects the true victory we've found in the Lord against all enemies.
Pastor of Children's Ministries
Carl has served in Children's Ministry for over 25 years. He loves to reach children and families for God, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in a relevant and exciting way He believes that we must reach one child at a time showing unconditional love of Christ and by speaking solid truth of God's Word that will bring a permanent change from within them. Carl is originally from Arvin, CA but has lived in San Diego, Phoenix, and Lubbock, TX over the years. His family includes his wife Kristi, who joins him in ministry, his three grown sons, and three grandchildren. Carl and Kristi returned back to Kern County in spring of 2018 where Carl serves Ridgeview as it's newest pastor. "Do not change yourself to be like the people of the world. But be changed within by a new way of thinking." Romans 12:2
Pastor of Spanish Ministries
Moises has served as the lead pastor of the Spanish congregation since 2013 and has served for more than 20 years in the areas of church music and youth ministry. Moises was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where he met and married his wife, Kari, currently a fifth-grade teacher at Golden Oak Elementary in Shafter. Moises and Kari have been married for 11 years and have 2 children, Caleb (9) and Lidia (7), and two energetic dogs. The Amadors have lived in Bakersfield since 2008 and are blessed to minister to the Hispanic community.
Ridgeview Christian Preschool Director
Jennifer has served as Ridgeview Christian Preschool's Director since September of 2009 and began attending RCC around that time as well. She was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA and graduated with her Bachelors Degree from Cal State University of Bakersfield. Jennifer has a three year old, Liam, who she enjoys spending quality time with. Jennifer’s favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5 because it shows that if you fully trust the Lord he will always show you the way.
Karla joined the Ridgeview staff in October 2011. She and her high school sweetheart, Walter, have been married 41 years and together have raised four children. Karla has served in several capacities in the past 40 years at a variety of Nazarene churches, including Director of Women's Ministries and Children's Caravan Director. Since their kids have grown and are creating families of their own, Karla and Walter enjoy the freedom to go on new adventures, visit new places and just enjoy the company of each other. Karla finds life inspiration from 1 Corinthians 13--the "love" chapter. She likes to think that love is like the air we breathe--we as Christians cannot live without it.
